Job Description
The Title IX Coordinator/Institutional Compliance Officer is responsible for educating and training LMUs campus community about federal, state, and local laws in the areas of equal opportunity, investigating and resolving discrimination and/or harassment complaints on the basis of sex, gender, marital status, pregnancy, race, color, ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or veteran status, coordinating conflict resolution efforts, and ensuring institutional compliance. This includes investigating alleged violations of Title IX, including allegations pertaining to sexual violence, relationship violence, and stalking. The Title IX Coordinator/Institutional Compliance Officer will work closely with University Counsels Office, Human Resources, Student Services, Campus Counseling, Athletics, Campus Police and Safety, and ADA Coordinator in carrying out his or her duties and responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
J.D. with at least one year of related experience; Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to interpret federal and state equal opportunity and non-discrimination laws and regulations, including Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, sexual harassment, and other applicable laws and regulations; excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; strong professional writing and documentation skills; demonstrated experience in conducting investigations; ability to work in a culturally diverse environment and interact with culturally diverse individuals at all levels of an organization.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with and understanding of mental health/counseling and physical/mental disability issues; prior mediation experience.

Serve as the University s central resource on issues related to harassment and discrimination, including sexual violence, sexual and gender-based harassment, domestic and dating violence, stalking and retaliation, discrimination/harassment on the basis of race, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, ethnicity, religion, disability, and veteran status.

Implement, manage, and update the University s Sexual Harassment/Violence and Discrimination Policies.

Perform intake, oversee and coordinate investigation and resolution of all harassment and discrimination complaints by employees, students and others protected under state/federal laws/regulations.

Maintain investigation files.

Serve as the central repository for all written student complaints.

Develop and maintain a University-wide reporting system for complaints and investigation findings.
Job Duty
Develop and implement long-term goals for programming, services, education and assessment related to Title IX, Equal Opportunity, Discrimination, and Harassment.

Provide leadership for University-wide initiatives to increase gender equity on campus.
Job Duty
Develop and disseminate educational materials, including brochures, posters, and web-based materials that inform all members of the campus community of legal rights and responsibilities related to harassment and discrimination.

Monitor, evaluate, and report programmatic effectiveness, and coordinate the changes required for continuous improvement and compliance.

Maintain current knowledge of the laws, policies, procedures and best practices with regard to all forms of harassment and discrimination.

Attend trainings, workshops, and conferences to augment knowledge.

Coordinate with Campus Police and Safety to meet Clery reporting requirements.

Act as the University s representative when attending conferences and communicating with government compliance or investigation officers.

Process inquiries from third parties regarding the University s Compliance program.

Work with Office of Research and Grants to identify and develop funding sources to support existing and new programs, services and initiatives, as appropriate to the University s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.

Work with Campus Counseling to develop resources for victims of harassment and discrimination.
Job Duty
Work with applicable University departments to implement interim and supportive measures to remedy harassment and discrimination.

Conduct periodic reviews of the climate and culture regarding harassment and discrimination, identify patterns, and make recommendations.

Availability after hours to deal with emergency issues.

Availability to travel to main campus and extended sites to provide training, support, and conduct investigations.
