Assistant/Associate Director, Digital Fundraising

POSITION SUMMARY: ASSITANT/ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, DIGITAL FUNDRAISING
Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Children's Fund, the Assistant/Associate Director, Digital Fundraising will oversee and implement a cohesive and high-impact digital marketing and communications strategy for seasonal crowdfunding campaigns, social media fundraising, influencer marketing, email solicitations in alignment with direct mail, and fundraising events. This role will manage a Digital Marketing Assistant who can help design online fundraising campaigns, promotional materials, and serve as tech support for donors and third-party fundraisers.
Due to Covid-19, employees of LPFCH (Lucile Packard Foundation for Children s Health) are currently working remotely, with the expectation of returning to the office within the next few months (subject to extensions as circumstances warrant). Once the office reopens, employees will transition to a hybrid work model. GENERAL POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Responsibilities:
- Establish KPIs, metrics, and regular internal and external reporting to demonstrate value of digital fundraising campaigns (revenue, participation, and pipeline) and drive prioritization and innovation.
- Work closely with the Community Fundraising and Direct Mail teams to lead multi-channel digital strategy for Foundation-hosted peer-to-peer fundraising including Summer Scamper, Giving Tuesday, Year-End, and social media fundraising challenges.
- Develop email and SMS strategies to build engaging donor journeys, nurture automations, and drip messaging campaigns. Lead implementation of A/B testing of digital fundraising initiatives to optimize campaigns and other digital initiatives.
- Lead creative for all aspects of digital fundraisers including website, blog, email solicitations, social media, video, and ads.
- Support marketing and communications for Annual Fund initiatives including, but not limited to, Community Relations, Auxiliaries, and Ambassadors.
- Design and manage fundraising-related social ads, keyword ads, and retargeting ads.
- Work closely with community fundraising team to implement a new influencer marketing program.
- Serve as the primary expert and liaison for the giving platform, Classy, which hosts all donation pages, crowdfunding, peer to peer campaigns, and event registration.
- Work closely with Advancement Services team to launch new fundraising pages and forms, track donors preferences, and report on donor journeys.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Leads, coaches, mentors, and develops direct report to ensure continuous learning and growth opportunities.
- Establishes staff goals and objectives in alignment with and support of departmental and Foundation goals.
- Ensures direct report is trained in their assigned job functions and as back-ups to other positions as appropriate.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
- One or more of these experiences are required for the Associate Director role:
- A Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline and/or equivalent experience.
- 5-7 years' experience in development and/or digital fundraising or a similar field.
- One or more of these experiences are required for the Assistant Director role:
- A Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline and/or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years' experience in development and/or digital fundraising or a similar field.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven ability to present, write, edit, and organize thoughts in a clear, concise, and well-organized manner for print, online, and other media.
- A demonstrated understanding of annual giving and the essential components of utilizing digital marketing, communication, and social media to lead campaigns.
- A good eye for design and the ability to communicate visually.
- Experience with designing fundraising related social ads.
Preferred:
- Prior management experience.
- Experience in higher education and/or healthcare.
- Familiarity with trends and best practices in communications, social media, and digital communications.
- Highly creative with the ability to think out of the box and bring a fresh perspective to the work.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook products including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
