The Weinberg Center for Women's Health & Medicine is recruiting a qualified radiologist for the role of Medical Director of Women's Imaging. Our center recently celebrated its 25th anniversary of providing high quality and compassionate care built on the mission of the Sisters of Mercy, for women of the entire Mid-Atlantic region. This position is becoming available due to upcoming retirement.
Clinical Practice Responsibilities
- 100% Breast Imaging, no call responsibilities, generous salary, time off and benefits package
- Provide medical direction for technologist staff and clerical staff for 2 breast imaging sites, including: supervise accreditation processes, attend weekly breast cancer conference, develop imaging protocols/policies, oversee Quality Assurance practices, supervise annual practice audit, evaluate new equipment/technology, participate in development of strategic growth strategies, recruit/interview new physicians and technologists, address performance issues with radiologists and staff, prepare presentations for teaching medical students and residents, assist with marketing of the center
- Director serves as the medical liaison to Mercy's multidisciplinary team of breast cancer specialists, especially the breast surgeons, oncologists and hospital administration
- Potential to redevelop and lead Breast Imaging Fellowship program
Clinical Practice Highlights
- Women's Health Center with all sub-specialty services integrated at single site, including women's imaging, breast surgery, plastic surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, genetic counseling, high-risk clinic, and pathology
- Satellite breast imaging office in suburban Baltimore area with potential for growth to other sites in the Baltimore metropolitan area
- ACR-accredited Breast Imaging Center of Excellence and NAPBC-accredited Breast Center with 3 dedicated breast surgeons, 3 nurse practitioners
- Advanced technology practice providing all DBT exams for screening and diagnostic patients (since 2013), DBT-guided and ultrasound-guided procedures, complete breast MRI service including biopsy (new 3T and 1.5T magnets being installed in 2021-2022), complete cancer risk assessment performed for all patients

REQUIREMENTS
- MD or equivalent degree
- ABR-certified radiologist, with minimum 5 years post-fellowship experience
- Completion of fellowship in Breast Imaging or equivalent experience
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
